This cute, low bed is one of the most popular Montessori bed designs. It is hand-made, built of 60 mm thick squared timber, and coated with ecological lacquer to protect the material most safely. It also includes a base and a side panel that you can attach to either side of the bed – especially for younger children – or remove completely when you don’t need it anymore.
The low bed frame starts about 6 cm above the floor, making it easy for children to go to bed and get up without help, supporting their autonomy. As children grow up and a higher bed is needed, additional legs can be incorporated to raise the bed 10 cm or 20 cm. The bed can hold up to 150 kg, so you can play together at bedtime or read stories before going to sleep without worrying about the bed’s bearing capacity.
